This Mercedes-Benz W204 came in with its factory D1S Xenon low beams, H7 halogen high beams and H11 halogen fog lights. We upgraded the three lighting applications with NaoEvo LEDs and finished the installation with headlight beam alignment.
The owner wanted to move away from the original Xenon and halogen setup and get a stronger, cleaner lighting setup for night driving.
The Original W204 Lighting Setup
Before the upgrade, the W204 was running:
- D1S Xenon for the low beams
- H7 halogen for the high beams
- H11 halogen for the fog lights
We replaced each bulb with a corresponding NaoEvo LED.
D1S Xenon to NaoEvo D1Plus LED
The factory D1S Xenon low beams were replaced with NaoEvo D1Plus LED bulbs.
The D1Plus produces a cleaner white light than the original Xenon bulbs and gives the W204 a noticeably different look at the front.
H7 Halogen to NaoEvo H7 180W LED
We also replaced the factory H7 halogen high beams with NaoEvo H7 180W LED bulbs.
The new high beams produce a stronger output and throw light further down the road, making a clear difference when driving on darker roads where high beams can be used.
H11 Halogen to NaoEvo H11 Tri-Color LED
The factory H11 halogen fog lights were replaced with NaoEvo H11 Tri-Color LED bulbs.
These fog lights offer three colour options:
- 3000K Yellow
- 4300K Warm White
- 6500K Cool White
The 3000K yellow option can be useful in rain, fog and dusty conditions, while 4300K and 6500K provide warmer and cooler white options respectively.
Installation and Final Result
After replacing the bulbs, we checked and aligned the headlights to make sure the beams were properly positioned.
The finished W204 now has NaoEvo D1Plus LEDs on the low beams, NaoEvo H7 180W LEDs on the high beams and NaoEvo H11 Tri-Color LEDs in the fog lights.
This replaces the original D1S Xenon and halogen combination with an all-LED setup while giving the front end a cleaner, whiter appearance.
