Factory halogen and HID bulbs can become less effective as they age, especially when driving on dark roads with little or no street lighting. For drivers who want to improve their vehicle's lighting, replacing the original bulbs with suitable NaoEvo LEDs is one option.
At Frame Frontiers, we work with different vehicle applications, including halogen, HID and projector-based headlights. The right NaoEvo bulb depends on the vehicle and the original bulb type.
From Factory Bulbs to NaoEvo LEDs
Halogen bulbs produce light by heating a filament, while HID systems use an electrical arc. LED bulbs use LED chips to produce light and can provide a different level of output and colour compared with the original setup.
For many vehicles, the upgrade can be done by replacing the existing bulbs with the corresponding NaoEvo LED application. However, the correct bulb type and fitment need to be checked before installation.
NaoEvo offers LED options for both common halogen applications and HID/projector systems.
Choosing the Right NaoEvo Bulb
Not every vehicle uses the same headlight bulb, so the first step is identifying what is already fitted.
For HID and projector applications, the NaoEvo range includes: D1S, D2S, D3S, D4S & Plus versions for selected applications
For halogen applications, options include: H8, H9, H11, GT6 series
This means the upgrade can be matched to the vehicle rather than using the same bulb across every application.
Headlight Beam and Alignment Matter
A brighter bulb is only useful when the light is directed properly. During an upgrade, the bulb needs to sit correctly in the headlight housing so that the beam remains properly focused. On projector and reflector headlights, positioning can affect the beam pattern and cutoff.
This is why we recommend checking the beam after installation and carrying out headlight beam alignment where necessary.
The goal is not simply to put more light into the headlight. It is to put the available light where the driver needs it while avoiding unnecessary glare for other road users.
What About Fog Lights?
Fog lights are another area where drivers often replace the original halogen bulbs with LEDs.
NaoEvo H8, H9 and H11 options cover several common fog-light applications. Depending on the vehicle, a suitable LED can provide a cleaner white appearance and stronger output than the original halogen bulb.
For fog lights, beam position is particularly important. A low and controlled beam is more useful than simply increasing brightness.
We can also help identify the correct bulb and check the installation on the vehicle.
NaoEvo LED Construction
NaoEvo LED bulbs use thin LED chips designed to position the light source appropriately within the bulb housing. The range also uses different cooling systems depending on the model, including cooling fans and copper heat-dissipation components.
These features are intended to manage heat while the LEDs are operating and maintain consistent performance.
Installation
Some NaoEvo bulbs are designed as direct replacements for the original bulb connection, while fitment can vary depending on the vehicle and application. Rather than assuming every installation is identical, we recommend confirming the bulb type and available space before ordering.
At Frame Frontiers, we offer installation, consultation and headlight beam alignment for customers who want the upgrade handled for them.
The NaoEvo Range
NaoEvo covers a wide range of vehicle lighting applications, from individual replacement bulbs to complete headlight and fog-light upgrades.
The most suitable option depends on:
- Your vehicle model
- The original bulb type
- Headlight design
- Whether the application is low beam, high beam or fog light
- The required beam pattern and output
If you're not sure which bulb your vehicle uses, send us the vehicle details and we can help identify the appropriate NaoEvo option.
