Toyota Fielder Headlight & Fog Light Upgrade: A Complete NaoEvo LED Transformation
When this Toyota Fielder arrived at Frame Frontiers, the goal was not simply to replace the few old bulbs. The objective was to rethink the vehicle's entire front lighting setup, modernizing the existing HID and halogen lighting while adding dedicated fog lights to create a more complete solution for night and changing weather conditions.
The fielder came equipped with D4S HID headlights and 9005 Halogen bulbs. To improve the overall lighting configuration, we upgraded both systems to NaoEvo LED technology and added NaoEvo Tri-Color LED fog lights.
The Starting Point: Factory HID & Halogen Lighting
The Toyota fielder originally relied on a combination of D4S HID and 9005 Halogen bulbs. While factory lighting is designed to provide the vehicle with its original level of illumination, drivers who frequently travel at night may want a more modern lighting solution, particularly when navigating roads with limited street lighting.
For a vehicle regularly driven through different environments, lighting requirements can change quickly. A clear urban road is very different from a dark rural road, a dry road is different from one covered in rain, and normal night driving is different from driving through mist, fog or dust.
For this reason, the Fielder's upgrade was approached as a complete lighting project rather than an isolated bulb replacement.
The Objective: More Than Just Brighter Bulbs
Before the installation, the goal was clear; modernize the existing headlights, improve the additional forward lighting and introduce dedicated fog lights.
The upgrade therefore focused on three areas:
D4S HID to NaoEvo D4S LED
The first stage of the project involved the vehicle's D4S HID bulbs which were replaced with NaoEvo D4S LED bulbs.
The purpose of this conversion was to bring modern LED technology into the Fielder's existing D4S application. LED lighting provides a clean, modern white appearance while delivering strong illumination for night driving. But the important consideration is not simply the visual intensity of the light.
The headlights must still provide controlled and useful illumination across the road ahead. That's why proper installation and beam alignment remain an important part of the upgrade. The result is a more contemporary lighting system that changes both the appearance and the character of the Fielder's headlights after dark.
9005 Halogen to NaoEvo 9005 4300K LED
The second part of the upgrade addressed the factory 9005 Halogen bulbs, which were replaced with NaoEvo 9005 4300K LED bulbs.
The 4300K color temperature provides a clean white appearance without moving into an excessively blue-looking light. This helps create a more consistent appearance between the different lighting components on the front of the vehicle.
More importantly, the LED upgrade provides stronger forward illumination than the original Halogen technology, helping the Fielder produce a more modern lighting output when driving after dark.
Fog Lights Installation
The Fielder was fitted with fog lights and equipped with NaoEvo Tri-Color LED bulbs. This adds a completely different position of illumination to the vehicle. Unlike the main headlights, fog lights sit low on the front bumper and are designed to complement the primary lighting rather than replace it.
The Tri-Color functionality also gives the driver flexibility when dealing with different weather and road conditions.
